Across two seasons and two continents, we’ve empowered fans of NBC’s The Voice to show off their passion and love for the show.

The Challenge

Reality competition shows like NBC’s The Voice drive impassioned debate amongst fans. Who will win — and who should win — are constantly at the center of the conversation. These shows are built to naturally drive this level of engagement, but for the networks that actually create the shows, it can be difficult to own the digital conversation.

Our Thinking

Invoke recognized these debates as the foundation for a new product. A product that not only empowers and supports fans, but enables the networks to own the conversation. That product, The 5th Coach, is a gamified social platform that reflects the gameplay of the show itself. Users act as a 5th Coach, picking their team of artists and supporting them as they progress through the season. Along the way they have the opportunity to unlock exclusive content and, based on how their team of performers does on the show week-to-week, have a shot at everything from bragging rights to real-world prizes.
